Jesus said “Let the
little children come unto me, and do not hinder them, for the
kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14
As we embark on this
incredible journey, our greatest desire is to instill a strong
foundation for a relationship with Christ in every child we,
through Christ, have the ability to reach. There is a saying that
children are the church of tomorrow – we believe, conversely, that
children are the church of today. If Jesus could take time aside
to kneel down and show love to these children… to go beyond that
and command us not to hinder them, how much more
does He desire and expect us to also take our time; to kneel, to
teach, to lead, to pray for, to listen to, to love?
Our services are built
to accomplish these charges from our Lord. Our main purpose is to
teach children and lead them into a solid foundation for Christ
that will last their entire lives. We start each Sunday morning
with breakfast, teaching them to pray and thank God for the food
He provides. We incorporate praise songs with hand motions, which
helps the children interact and enjoy praising the Lord. We do
silly games that ultimately tie into our life lesson from the
Bible for the week. We encourage memory verse memorization
because that, alone, is the best place to start if the goal is a
solid foundation. We have puppets, skits, videos, silly helpers,
prizes, drawings, and many more things that will ensure fun for
your child… But the purpose, the ultimate goal, is instilling
Jesus Christ in each and every one of them.
We are humbled and
beyond blessed to be called by God to pastor these lives that are
so precious in His sight. We are thrilled at this opportunity and
cannot wait to see what God has in store for the children of
Living Waters Family Worship Center. If it is even half of
what He has put on our hearts, then the adults better move
over…HERE WE COME!!
